Arbor Day
Arbor Day is America’s National Tree Holiday, founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872 to commemorate the importance of trees to humanity. In 1970 Arbor Day was proclaimed the last Friday in April.  Celebrating this day is a wonderful way to integrate lessons and meet Common Core objectives.

shed your fear of social media

Communication is without question the cornerstone to any successful classroom or school community. The tools that have been used over time have transitioned slowly from handwritten or photocopied notes to email. As our stakeholders have embraced new technologies, we have had to also consider the value of using digital tools for communication. I'll give you a look into my experience with social media and how you can shed your social media fears and embrace communication on your students' terms.
