Parent teacher conferences
Some teachers loathe parent-teacher conference time; some love it.  No matter what side of the spectrum you're on, it's always beneficial to both you and parents to be prepared.  The parent-teacher conference is the single most important way to build a solid relationship for the future of the student.  Several good resources cited inside offer help in this regard.
